![]() Andrew was so sweet when I dropped him off at school today - he gave me a big kiss, told me he loved me, and made the "I love you" sign as he walked away. He recreated it at home for me later - heart melting!!

Both of my boys often ask me to "lay with me" when I am tucking them in (Andrew at 8:30 and William at 9:00). I don't always, but often times I will go in if they seem to be having a rough time falling asleep. These pictures were both taken in the last few days. Bliss.
So tonight, we got the "Mint" vacuum going. It was fun to watch it and the boys thought it was the best thing ever :)
Today was a day that felt overwhelming just thinking about for me for some reason, but that's why I'm so grateful that I use this as a time to really reflect on the day. It was a great one and thankfully I am getting better at that in the moment as I shifted gears as the day progressed as opposed to 9:00pm when I sit at my computer. Some highlights: ![]() William already needed a new "replacement cleat" for his new football shoes. That meant a stop at Sports Authority where he got distracted on the golf green for a bit. (And, made me wish Grandpa Harold was alive to teach my boys golf) ![]() Next stop, HyVee. William volunteered to be his Scout patrol's "Grub Master" for this weekend's camping trip. He did great with his allocated $81 and shopping list. And, even better - he and I had a great time getting it done. ![]() We picked up Andrew from the Community Center on the way home and he was thrilled to find his violin waiting for him at home. That makes two boys playing violin in the Schalley house. The pictures don't capture stops for gas, prescription refills, homemade pasta bolognese dinner, homework with Andrew, two loads of laundry, showers, and Andrew's Scout's Pack meeting that lasted until 8:35. Sometimes it feels overwhelming because it is overwhelming, but - in the scope of things - it is all full of blessings.
![]() The days at our pool are very limited and so we are trying to make the most of them. Even thought it is a school night (thankfully the pool closes at 8:00 now), we try to make it there twice a week. The boys are still like fish and love it. And, tonight I sat in the shade with the wind blowing softly reading a great book. Lovely! |
