Today was a day that felt overwhelming just thinking about for me for some reason, but that's why I'm so grateful that I use this as a time to really reflect on the day. It was a great one and thankfully I am getting better at that in the moment as I shifted gears as the day progressed as opposed to 9:00pm when I sit at my computer. Some highlights: William already needed a new "replacement cleat" for his new football shoes. That meant a stop at Sports Authority where he got distracted on the golf green for a bit. (And, made me wish Grandpa Harold was alive to teach my boys golf) Next stop, HyVee. William volunteered to be his Scout patrol's "Grub Master" for this weekend's camping trip. He did great with his allocated $81 and shopping list. And, even better - he and I had a great time getting it done. We picked up Andrew from the Community Center on the way home and he was thrilled to find his violin waiting for him at home. That makes two boys playing violin in the Schalley house. The pictures don't capture stops for gas, prescription refills, homemade pasta bolognese dinner, homework with Andrew, two loads of laundry, showers, and Andrew's Scout's Pack meeting that lasted until 8:35. Sometimes it feels overwhelming because it is overwhelming, but - in the scope of things - it is all full of blessings.
