So William decided to sneak on my phone yesterday and change my background picture to this:
And then Jim found out tonight and when I saw my phone it was this:
It makes me smile that they keep trying to surprise me and beat each other :)

William played his first sports game ever for his school today and he played GREAT. I was so proud of his sportsmanship and teamwork. And, his godmother and my amazing friend came to watch! I am so happy! One of my New Years goals was to do something big or small for the house each month. Here is January's - a new, much loved light fixture for our dinette area. And lucky for a patient hubby to install it. Love this picture of my Cub Scout! Only 12 more months until he becomes a Boy Scout like his brother. So thankful they are both learning so much in Scouting! Fancy hot chocolate tonight! I was given some "real" hot chocolate at work and the boys requested it for dessert tonight. It was quite a bit more work heating milk on the stove and the results were mixed - William prefers the "fake" stuff while Andrew and I liked the "real" stuff quite a bit. Regardless, it was a fun experiment!
I decided that the boys need to really start learning to do some cooking in the kitchen for three reasons: 1. Sometimes I need help and they are handy :) 2. I want the person they marry to think we did a good job teaching them cooking basics :) 3. I love the time chatting in the kitchen while we get things ready. So, here is Andrew helping cook his picked recipe of tuna casserole for Sunday dinner. He loves doing it, especially because he learned how to use the can opener tonight. Today was a lovely day. William's basketball team won and he played a great game. Andrew did great in swim lessons. And, then, Jim and I got out for a "mini-date" to Menards (finally getting a new dinette light fixture I can't wait to put up) and for some wine at Louie's Wine Dive. We headed home with surprise Chinese for dinner with the boys and a DVRed Shark Tank. Fantastic time! PS - Jim surprised me by putting this picture of himself on my cell phone while I went to the bathroom. :) Today was my third week picking up William and his friends from school and basketball practice. Is it crazy to say I love it? I feel so blessed to listen to the boys chat away on the way home - I am lucky to be able to do it! |
