![]() The tan fingers are Andrew's and the white ones are mine. We sat holding hands the other night talking. Melted my heart. Last week, as we were driving to the Y for summer day camp, we were discussing the royal baby and names. I told the boys that they both had royal names. That Prince William would someday be king and that Prince Andrew was the future king's brother. All of a sudden, Andrew becomes upset and worried. He asks - "But, Mommy, in the Disney movies, the king's brother is always the mean one. What does that mean for me?" Such a smart observation and so glad he was relieved when I told him that would never happen to him and that Prince Andrew was very nice. Whew - crisis solved! Overall, another nice day! The kids did a color run/walk at the Y for their field trip this afternoon and I'm thankful for a relaxed night at home. Here's what my kids were doing at 5:30 while waiting for dinner tonight:
![]() Parenting boys sure comes with some twists I didn't expect. One of them - bugs! Here is Snoopy who came home from 3rd grade with Andrew last January as a meal worm. Now, he's been living in this container as a "darked winged beetle" for months. He's easy enough - just put a few drops of water on the paper towel every couple days and Andrew sure likes him. I just wonder how long these beetles really live?! Jim is still on RAGBRAI and the boys and I had an unusual day too. They came to work with me for a bit and then we road tripped to see Jeana and her girls for a picnic lunch and a swimming date.
So this weekend ended up being very relaxing for the boys and I (I have to confess that they didn't get out of PJs all weekend!) Jim had RABRAI starting this weekend, so we had lots of lazy time. Here are some pictures from my birthday: ![]() And here is a picture of Jim with the guys he is riding RABRAI with. Hoping he has a great time! |
