Sometimes I wonder if I make an impact on the boys - or as much of one that I want to. This morning, I walked by both of the boys' rooms after the came down for breakfast and saw this. Both had made their beds without asking on a Sunday morning. Made me smile! Remembering my special Grandpa Harold even more today - we miss him so much, even after five years. We started Saturday off with sports - Andrew's soccer practice and then William's second football game of the season. In the first half, he had a great run on offense and then got a "Pick 6" - intercepted the ball on defense and ran it back for a Touchdown - I was so proud! We also had a wedding for Jim's work at night - it was a beautiful place outside Glenwood Iowa. We had fun getting dressed up and even doing some dancing :)
I'm thankful I get to be with the boys every morning before school. Here's some snapshots today of them about to head off to their schools:
One of the things that amazes me is that the kids are old enough to stay home for a bit. Saturday night, Jim and I took advantage of that. It was sooo hot, that we went out for some cool drinks. And, they were yummy!
Tonight I got to spend a leisurely dinner with my dear friend Susie and am so grateful! But, I also got a chance to spend time after school with Andrew before I left and he always leaves me smiling.
Thank Heavens for three day weekends! The boys never got out of their PJs today and the three of us never even left the house (thank you to Jim for doing the grocery shopping!). We did make some yummy snow cones for the boys though :)
We had no clue that we had a great Fort just north of Omaha in Fort Calhoun. We spent Sunday afternoon visiting the amazing place of Fort Atkinson. We will have to go back for sure!
