William is so sweet! Today is his last day of Work Study and leading his crew. He had me take him to pick up cookie dough last night and then made two dozen for his team. He then made them each a "funny" award and took them today to end his time. I thought it was such a nice gesture that he came up with all on his own!

The day has come! William left for school on his own this morning in his own car. Although I said lots of prayers, I was not as nervous as I thought I would be!
So, the boys got a surprise, too-cold for school day off today. Jim and I were not so lucky. We both headed to work. And, I also attended a sophomore parent meeting at Creighton Prep about the PSAT scores and colleges. It is starting so soon!!
William preplanned to make an egg and hashbrown recipe he saw on Gordon Ramsey. I was smiling as I left for work this morning (while they were all sleeping). William did save me some! He spent over an hour in the morning making them!
This is how I found Andrew this afternoon. Jim and the boys have tomorrow off. W & A were bickering so I sent them to their rooms. Andrew got very quiet and then I saw this. So sweet. Later, Jim made a fire that we all enjoyed!
Jim and I headed out for a date night drink tonight at the wine bar near our house. We hadn't been there since summer and enjoyed a few hours of catching up over a yummy bottle of wine. Later we picked up Chinese and headed home for dinner with the boys. A lovely, relaxed Saturday night. In other news, William left the house three times in his car today - to meet his friends for breakfast, to go to his basketball game, and to hang out at someone's house. He is loving his car.
A final sunrise picture with William. It is our last "official" carpool day of Mom and William. I have joked with him so many times that he will be driving and see a colorful sunrise and think of me. Today he buys his parking pass for school and will begin to drive himself next week!
Finally! A car for William! Jim and I have been spending so much time every day online trying to find William a good car. Many of the ones that look interesting are taken before we can even connect. This one didn't have pictures up of it when I looked the night before, but it fit our criteria. It was a Honda, 2008, with 101,000 miles on it. It was also at the dealer by my work. When I contacted them, they had it ready to see when I got off of work and it ended up being the 1! I think it will be a great car for William and he is excited. Now, prayers for safety begin!
This is the look of a happy kid. He got home from Religious Ed and learned that school is cancelled tomorrow due to expected weather. Nothing like having a day off after only being back two days!
Jim is gone to Des Moines for work tonight, so I took some bed time pictures of the boys for him. He always gets anxious going out of town and we miss him.
